Zero to One: Notes on Startups, or How to Build the Future

The book by Pay Pal founder and Facebook investor Peter Thiel points the way out of the technological stagnation.

Thiel thinks we are living in times of technological stagnation. Although globalisation suggests technological progress, the supposed innovations are mainly copies of the existing – and thus anything but innovations! Peter Thiel shows how true innovation is created In his book he shows:

  • True innovation does not emerge horizontally, but in leaps and bounds – from zero to one.
  • You don’t conquer the future as the best of many, but as the only innovator.
  • Founders must step out of the competition of the same old, same old and conquer completely new markets.
Brilliant thinking is rare, but courage is in even shorter supply than genius.
Peter Thiel
Billionaire Entrepreneur
and Venture Capitalist

Even though the book was published for the first time on 16 September 2014 – it is still highly relevant for:

  • an appeal for a start-up of the whole of society
  • a radical appeal against stagnation
  • a plea for more courage to take risks
  • a signpost to an innovative future
