Newsletter Distribution Platform

MailChimp

The newsletter is sent via “MailChimp”, a newsletter distribution platform of the US provider Rocket Sciene Group, LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE 5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA.

The data of our newsletter recipients are stored on the servers of MailChimp in the USA. MailChimp uses this information to send and evaluate newsletters on our behalf. In addition, MailChimp may also use this information for its own information to optimize or improve its own services, e.g. for technical optimization of the dispatch and display of the newsletter or for economic purposes to determine from which countries recipients come. However, MailChimp does not use the data of our newsletter recipients to write to them or pass them on to third parties. We trust in the reliability and IT and data security of MailChimp. MailChimp is certified under the US-EU data protection agreement “Privacy Shield” and is therefore committed to complying with EU data protection regulations. This is a contract in which MailChimp undertakes to protect the data of our users, to process it on our behalf in accordance with their data protection regulations and, in particular, not to pass it on to third parties.

MailChimp: Statistical Survey and Analyses

The newsletters contain a so-called “web-beocon”, i.e. a pixel-sized file that is retrieved from the MailChimp server when the newsletter is opened. Within the scope of this retrieval, technical information, such as information about the browser and your system, as well as your IP address and time of retrieval will initially be collected. This information is used to technically improve the services on the basis of technical data or target groups and their reading behaviour on the basis of their retrieval locations (which can be determined with the help of the IP address) or access times. The statistical surveys also include determining whether the newsletters are opened, when they are opened and which links are clicked. For technical reasons, this information can be assigned to the individual newsletter recipients. However, it is neither our nor MailChimp’s aim to observe individual users. The evaluations serve us much more to recognize the reading habits of our users and to adapt our content to them or to send different content according to the interests of our users.

MailChimp: Cancellation / Withdrawal

You can cancel the receipt of our newsletter at any time, i.e. revoke your consent. At the same time, your consent to its dispatch via MailChimp and the statistical analyses will expire. A separate revocation of the dispatch via MailChimp or the statistical analysis is unfortunately not possible. You will find a link to cancel the newsletter, usually called “Unsubscribe”, at the end of each newsletter.

MailChimp: Legal Basis Basic Data Protection Regulation

In accordance with the provisions of the Data Protection Ordinance (DSGVO) in force on 25 May 2018, we inform you that your consent to the sending of e-mail addresses is based on Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. o, 7 DSGVO and Art. 7 Para. 2 No. 3 or Para. 3 UWG. The use of the MailChimp shipping service, the performance of statistical surveys and analyses as well as the logging of the registration procedure are carried out on the basis of our legitimate interests. Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO. Our interest is directed to the use of a user-friendly as well as secure newsletter system, which serves our business interests as well as the expectations of the users.
