The Unplugged Hours

The Unplugged Hours

In The Unplugged Hours, Hannah Brencher explores her journey to reclaim presence in a hyperconnected world. Motivated by feelings of exhaustion and disconnection in 2021, Brencher embarked on a challenge to achieve 1,000 unplugged hours in a year. Her decision to step away from digital distractions led to a profound personal transformation, revealing the joy and fulfillment found in intentional living and deep human connection.

Through a mix of memoir and practical guidance, the book reflects on themes like battling digital addiction, the beauty of mundane moments, and cultivating meaningful relationships. Brencher doesn’t advocate abandoning technology entirely but instead encourages small, mindful changes that lead to a more balanced life. She combines spiritual insights with actionable advice to help readers establish their own unplugged routines.

The book highlights how disengaging from screens can open up opportunities for reflection, creativity, and genuine interactions. Brencher’s warm and relatable writing inspires readers to slow down, connect with the world around them, and rediscover the value of simply being present.
