On 30 April 2026, fAIr – female AI Rise held its Founding Cohort kick-off at Colab, Impact Hub Zürich. 15 ambitious women – corporate professionals, business owners, and entrepreneurs – gathered for a full-day retreat that opened a six-week implementation programme designed to turn AI from an exotic high-barrier tool into a strategic partner.
WE SHAPE TECH was proud to support this milestone as a networking partner. Here is what the day revealed:
The real barrier to AI adoption is psychological, not technical.
Participants arrived curious but wary. By midday, the conversation had shifted: the challenge is not learning the tools – it is trusting them enough to hand over work that has always felt like yours alone. The retreat was designed to address exactly that.
Grounded AI is different from general AI – and the distinction matters.
A deep dive from SCI’s AI experts clarified something that most AI conversations skip: general-purpose AI is brilliant at exploration, but for high-stakes research and decision-making, a grounded system – one that reasons only from documents you provide – produces more reliable, citable results. Knowing when to use which is its own skill.
Mental load redistribution is more powerful than time-saving.
fAIr frames AI not as a productivity tool but as a way to reduce the invisible operational load that accumulates across multiple roles. When AI carries the drafts, the diaries, the follow-ups, one can focus on work that only they can do.
Mindfulness and technology are not opposites.
The day wove breathwork and reflection directly into the AI learning arc – not as a break from the content, but as part of it. Learning from a place of calm, the founders argued, produces skills that compound.
Community changes what you are willing to try.
By the afternoon’s practical sessions, participants were sharing workflows, asking open but insightful questions, actively considering how they could leverage the AI tools. The peer dynamic where 15 women in the same room working on real problems created permission that no course alone can manufacture.
