Women in Tech: Take Your Career to the Next Level

Practical Advice and Inspiring Stories

Even though the book was published back in 2016, it has become anything but irrelevant. That’s because “Women in Tech” combines practical career tips and personal stories from female entrepreneurs and tech professionals.
The goal is to motivate women everywhere and show what a career in the field looks like or can look like. Included are tips on

  • The secrets of salary negotiation
  • The best format for a resume in tech
  • How to master a job interview
  • The secrets of mentorship

Plus, the book is a hit to pass along to your mentees or women you want to encourage to get into the industry. I’m sure that has something to do with the fact that “Women in Tech” – launched with a Kickstarter campaign – doesn’t get much geekier than this!

About the Author

Tarah Wheeler Van Vlack, is an author and is known as the CEO and co-founder of Fizzmint. She has also successfully led projects at Microsoft Game Studios and founded Red Queen Technologies and the Hack The People Foundation. As such, she is intimately familiar with the challenges that female tech professionals face on a daily basis.

That’s why she’s teamed up with other high-performing women in the industry (successful female entrepreneurs and analysts to elite female hackers and gamers) with the goal of writing a book together. Wheeler Van Vlack interviewed professionals like Angie Chang (founder of Women 2.0), Keren Elazari (TED speaker and cybersecurity expert), Katie Cunningham (Python teacher and developer) and Miah Johnson (senior systems administrator).
